WA PROFESSIONAL RUNNING EVENTS – PLEASE READ

The West Coast Athletics League (Inc.) is the body responsible for governing the sport of professional running in WA and is affiliated with the Australian Athletic Confederation (Inc.) along with the other state professional leagues.

Western Australian & Interstate Athletes should ensure before participating in any WA professional running event they must be a current member of the WCAL (or appropriate AAC state league) and the event must be sanctioned by the WCAL

Athletics WA is NOT the official organising body for pro running in WA & does not have official permission whatsoever to do so.

The ‘Bunbury Geographe Gift’ is NOT recognised by any professional running organisation anywhere in Australia.

Official permission ensures the event complies with Australian professional running standards, the handicapper is registered and results are recorded historically.  And profits from larger events are reinvested back into the leagues to make smaller events.

Please contact the WCAL (or your state league) if you have any queries.
